Who do I contact in DC to get rid of a ton of moving trash?

My fiance and I recently moved to the DC area and have a TON on trash (15 trash bags and a mountain of cardboard moving boxes). I don't think I can just leave this stuff in the street on trash day, can I? Is there someone I should call with the city?

    Thanks!

If the trash is in bags and they're not outrageously heavy..then you should be ok.

Some places have regulations on trash weight per bag, and other places no.

In the neighborhood where I live.. on the first Saturday of every month..you can put out anything and they'll take it away. Check to see if they have a "Big Trash Day" where you live
