Took these pics today. The campground is about 50 minutes from Jackson, California. Up Hwy 88. No showers, but has outhouses and water. Some RV sites, and handicap access to the river. A plus or minus for some this campground had lots of postings about off road dirt bike tracks and what areas they could be in. It was a weekday...so no one was there. But might be noisey on the weekends. Don't know for sure. Campground 5 miles in from Hwy 88. Pretty park. Streams next to campsites. A river view from some campsites. Has campground host. $19 a night. Also had group sites for additional fee. Can make reservations. Here are the pics. Don't forget to hit the back button each time or you lose your window.:)

Showers??? One showers when camping? You would have never known it with my kids when they were little. "BUT MOM.... Why do we need to take a shower.... aren't we camping?" They would have loved that place!

I'm going to bring one of those big tubs...you know...round with rope handles, sit it in the stream let the kids fill it up...drag it out of the stream and to dry dirt. Then bath them. The two little ones will fit in there. Still figuring out what to do for the rest of us:) Izzy

We roughed it and had a great time. Just threw everyone in the tub as soon as we got back. Have a few pics to share. Pipi was really fun for the kids. Pic one: Dam Building, Pic two: playing in creek next to camp, pic three: kicking back with dad, Pic four: learning how in the meadow, Pic five: Oldest son enjoying view, Pic six: finding the biggest and most stick for fire and smores:)

Also, Wally World had a porta shower that was the same concept. It was a black bag that you could fill and then hang anywhere. It's a little better because it doesn't take up any room when empty. Not that either method will allow a leisurely shower, but it will get you went, soaped and rinsed. Just be quick.

Sounds like a good idea 53...I will shop on line for a shower setup...Painting it black and keeping it in the sun would make a big difference. Thanks for the tip. Sounds like you've done a lot of camping. Izzy

We didn't bring any ticks home with us. The bugs weren't bad...didn't have to use the OFF. No horse flys...but the big black/blues ones. Didn't have any trouble with bees either. Which is what we run into locally. The yellow and black bees...we call them meat eaters. The only thing missing to make it the perfect place is a shower But we will buy that shower package on line that 53 was talking about. The only other problem we run into camping in our area is rattle snakes. Big problem locally. See them dead on the road all summer. Been lucky, knock on wood. Not to have seen any at home. The school has about 3 a year found laying on the playground...sunning themselves. Scary. Izzy

Going go PIPI this weekend with ton of family. Not sure what to expect. Does anyone have pictures of group site 28, 17 or 42? How close is the creek to the campsites?

Is it pronounced pi-pee, or peepee?

Here are some pics I believe 2 of them are of 42 the group camp site...but not sure... pics 1 &2. It's been a year since I've looked at these. PiPi as in the math term...I think. This is also a BMX campground. Although we heard very little to no bike noise and they are not allowed to run in the campground they have to be trailered in and out to the trails. The big creek can be heard or seen from all campsites. If you have small children pick the campsites at the back like we did campsite 35 is in that area but the one next to it is even nicer and flatter. Some sites can be reserved and some can't. Those that can't are first come first serve. The meadow is a great place to do family actives. There is a beautiful well maintained path along creek. Park is geared to providing for handicap...as you can see by the observation deck over the creek. There is a still water spot for wading...but I still made the kids wear life jackets...when you get to the faster running water...it could carry a small child down stream. Izzy
