Your welcome you all! Sky, I believe this was in September or October and about a week later those hills you see in the background were on fire. We evacuated to my parent's house in Sherman Oaks more due to poor breathing conditions than anything else but soon after we arrived at their home, fires sprung up in Burbank and Calabasas so at that point there was no escaping the fires or the poor air quality. Very erie day and unfortunately has become the norm in the fall for fires to spring up.

| Well Sky the terra cotta look you noticed is because the earth in this area is red clay and with the sparse rain that Ca. gets, the hills don't stay green very long. The become this ugly brown color as soon as the sun gets closer to the earth and heats up....like April or May and stays that way until January or February.

You know DL the climate has much to do with the dryness-it is basically semi desert or dry subtropical Mediterranean ever been on US 101 around San Jose far to the north? Even in June the hills/coastal ranges are red brown. |
