Default New LA Marijuana Ordinance

Quote:
The ordinance will allow most dispensaries that registered with the city in 2007 to continue to operate, a number that may be around 150. But those stores will still have to comply with the location restrictions, including being at least 1,000 feet away from schools, parks and libraries.

Many operators said today that they will be unable to find suitable locations because the City Council also added restrictions to keep the stores from abutting or being across an alley from residential property. Operators also said that landlords, aware that there are very few buildings that can meet the tight location restrictions, are already jacking up rents.

Nope. Not me. It is a state that I have (am) looking into. I was kind of hoping someone would jump in and say, well there is more to this then what is being reported. This usually IS the case. Or they wouldn't have pushed for it so hard except that we saw these incidents. Then I could like get a better understanding of what kind of issues that I would be walking into.

Is it really as simple as, we are going to treat these places like dealers? Another side says, cha-ching? It could be.

I have been reading where some of the clinics have been robbed. Perhaps, 1000 feet away from the schools is a really good thing just because of the risk. If the risk is greater for robberies due to the alleys then that too might be worth it. The other side of this coin could be access. Is this harmful to those who need it because of lack of access?

My career is dependent on city councils and county councils and the state and whatever political crap is going on. The key is to find the political crap that I am most willingly to deal with and my quality of life has increased exponentially. This is the reason I started posting on the OK board. I want to evaluate what was great, the key industries, and the cultures that I encountered and what blew. Now, if you don't want me to post in these other areas, please, let me know. (When I read that last line-it doesn't seem to across the way I intended it and I can't figure out a better way to phrase it.)
