June thus far in the northeast has been awful- cool and with days of rain with downpours. Today was the nicest day in weeks- but do not hold your breath- more rain after midnight- and tomorrow into tomorrow night and early Friday- I feel like my feet should become webbed. |

I believe the whole East Coast is experiencing similar weather patterns. On the Delmarva Peninsula, it's been rain, rain, rain. I've had to buy new rain gear this year, since I work outside in the elements 50% of the time.

Seems we've had showers here all week/month too. So... this afternoon I was out back and the sun was shining down and I bent over to feel the grass. Hey! it was pretty dry - dry enough to cut. Off to the barn I went to get the mower. A few raindrops began to fall. Bah, the sun was still out. No biggie. But by the time I had gassed up the lawn tractor and checked the oil it was raining so hard that the steel roof was as loud as a rock band. Curse you mother nature! Really, I love ya, but your sense of humor - and timing - were off for me today. It did clear off nicely in about ten minutes, though.

A cloudy dismal Monday spritzes of rain- not very uplifting. |

Sky, This weather is worse than New England winter! It has rained here at least 17 out of 21 days this June. I especially hate the spritzy rain that lingers all day. My hair can't take it I tell you!

Well DL, The mold spores are driving my body crazy- they get in- and my body overloads with them- in order to rid them, the Liver and Kidneys excrete them- which means frequent trips to men's room ---I pee allot. |

It's the same weather up and down the east coast - damp, rainy, sprinkles, clouds, and more rain. Actually, the days and nights have been pleasantly cool for late June. I really hate the heat and humidity, so I'm pretty happy. Good sleeping, no AC running here, and evening gatherings of neighbors on our front porch instead of that blasted T.V. on. The only negative for me is, a few of the grandsons' baseball games are getting rained out, but they will be made up at the end of the season.

I began painting my neighbor's house yesterday. All day long it looked like rain would start any minute. Temp was around 65 with a pleasant breeze. It never did rain. I even got my grass cut last evening - as did everyone else in this small village. There must've been 20 lawnmowers running - all within earshot. Today is just the same as yesterday. I just stopped in for a snack. Wait, make that an early lunch. Grey skies, breezy and yet no rain. Strangely though, I was outside last night around 11 and it seemed almost clear. We have not yet had an 80 degree day in June. We had two of them in May. |

Today turned out to be a fine day with a few more clouds than sun in the afternoon. It was a good day to be standing on a ladder. At quitting time - about 7 p.m. the sky was just about clear. We get a few different weather tracks here. The St. Lawrence Valley is just a few miles to the north and on many days I can see that it's cloudy there and clear here and vice versa. Today's high (according to the porch thermometer where I was working) 71. But yet, as I post at 11:20 p.m. it hasn't dropped more than 5 degrees. Really quite comfortable right now.

Well, today was the first real day of summer here. Blistering sun I was out in. I had to knock off early and go back to painting my neighbors house after there was some shade to stand in. We finally made it into the 80s! I'm not even sure if it was humid. Probably it was, but I wasn't able to tell being drenched in perspiration. When I came home for lunch it looked as though I'd gone swimming... Which I may well do tomorrow - Woo Hoo!

Strong storms crossed the state yesterday afternoon late/early evening- torrential rains, winds, and large hail in many places thankfully where I am- saw nothing but rain, and heard some distant thunder. |

And so it continues. I've been trying to paint my neighbor's house for the past week or two and the daily showers along with today's washout just aren't helping. My lawn is shaggy and the doors in my home are swollen and sticking from the constant barrage of dampness. My flowers are all looking kind of depressed too. But the weeds are magnificent!

Yes S The clouds came in- but the temps are so San Francisco and the clouds have come and gone- believe me after all the years I have lived in New England-about 92% of my life- the weather is most pleasant today. I dislike 95 degrees and high stifling humidity, which is more the norm here on his historic holiday. Last edited by skytrekker; 07-04-2009 at 02:52 PM. |

P, I just took the most enjoyable walk with my Angel dog around West Concord with a beautiful ocean breeze blowing any moisture on my brow away. Loved walking amongst the charming Cape Cod style homes and the manicured lawns. It's a lovely 80 and it feels good to be free. Wishing you and Mom a delightful 4th.

I will estimate that we got a good inch of rain today. I'm glad you folks in southern NE had a fair weather day. We missed out. Rain, rain and more rain. I still don't know how they managed to pull off today's parade. Fireworks tonight in a steady drizzle. Temp about 48 right now with the wood stove providing some heat. It feels like fall tonight. ===== BRRRRRR!!!!!!!!! ===== |

Another wonderful day ahead- not a cloud in the sky- low humidity-temps will top out at 80 degrees. I was outside at 2am this morning-woke up and went outside to look at the sky- it was pleasantly cool- clear.'The Summer Triangle' was about overhead Summer Triangle - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia the moon-almost full was in the southwest-low in the sky in the constellation of Scorpius.. In the high south east Jupiter shined near the Aquarius/Capricornus border. In the due east- a harbinger of autumn, the 'Great Square' of Pegasus was rising higher. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pegasus...nstellation%29 also http://www.earthsky.org/skywatching/...are-of-pegasus Last edited by skytrekker; 07-05-2009 at 07:21 AM. |

No rain at the moment. Low clouds winging by. I can actually see a patch of blue. It's always a pleasure to observe the night sky. I was wondering where the moon was presently. I had noticed a crescent last week, but we've had so much overcast that I lost track. We're lucky that wasn't Orion you saw peeking over the horizon. Not quite ready for that one yet, but it's one of my favorite constellations. So prominent all winter. Here's where I get my local weather and astronomical info. http://www.eotsweb.org/nightsky.php |

Orion is not visible currently- it will slowly rise in the morning sky in mid August- in the east south east.

Much the same as us. We're about a month behind on weather. haha We normally get the May gloom with rain and such. Here it is July and we're finally getting it. It sounds like your doing much of the same.

We have had 2 really nice days, but T-storms are forecast for the rest of the weekend. Today was in the mid to upper 70s and lots of nice cumulus clouds hanging around. I noticed they're still going the wrong way though. (east to west) I took a ride today and saw cornfields that haven't grown all that much. Some were almost washed out. The old saying around here is "Knee high by the 4th of July" but not this year. Lower to mid-calf is where we're at for now. Ah, the weather... Always gives us something to talk about. |

The weather for the next week looks incredibly balmy and comfortable here but long range predictions see a warm autumn- fine with me, after a most pleasant summer -thus far. |
