Milford School Superintendent Charged With Sexual Contact

MILFORD - The Milford schools superintendent has been arrested on fourth-degree sexual contact and breach of peace charges after two female principals filed sexual harassment complaints against him.

Milford police said Harvey Polansky was arrested Friday and released on a promise to return to court on Feb. 2. A telephone message was left with his attorney, Fred Dorsey, who predicted in November that Polansky would be vindicated.

Police said the complaints alleged Polansky inappropriately touched both victims on several occasions on school property last year.

Polansky has been on paid leave, ordered by the school board on Nov. 15 days after two female principals filed complaints of sexual harassment against him.

Polansky, of Trumbull, earns an annual salary of $195,274. http://www.courant.com/news/local/st...,7626842.story

Milford is a town of over 50,000, located on the Connecticut shoreline of Long Island sound-west of New Haven a few miles.

Not to be judgmental, but it makes me wonder how some people can rise so high- and do things to others so inappropriate. I guess we are only all human-with some having better judgement then others-P

The stats everywhere are quite alarming, Sky, regarding low to high risk sex offenders. It will only get worse, I think.

Milford Superintendent of Schools Harvey Polansky has agreed to resign immediately in the wake of his arrest on sexual assault charges filed after two female principals accused him of sexual harassment.

The town's Board of Education approved a deal Thursday night that will pay Polansky more than $110,000 in return for his leaving immediately. The money represents pay through June 30 and accumulated vacation time.

School officials placed Polansky on paid leave in November after the principals filed complaints. He was charged with fourth-degree sexual assault and breach of peace last week on allegations he inappropriately touched both women.

Polansky's lawyer said earlier this week that the allegations are "baseless" and he expected Polansky would be vindicated.
