best amusement park - TalkStates

With a limited time to visit, what would be the most recommended amusement park to go to? Disney, universal, others?

I have been to Disneyland in California. Went to Santa Barbara and stayed at a hotel where it seemed like everyone there was Eastern Europe. Seemed to be a place that attracted people like markablue Moderator.

What do you typically find at these places? Do locals visit the parks very often?

Well if you don't have a lot of time, go to Universal/Islands of Adventure/Universal's Wet N Wild. Less overwhelming, more compact parks. A little LITTLE less theming but GREAT parks. Wet N Wild is the best waterpark in Florida IMO, Islands of Adventure is a fun, young theme park and the Universal Studios are ok, but not really my cup of tea.

I'm not into waterparks, but I like coasters! I am a Disney lover also, but It is such a big park I might get lost!

Islands of Adventure has a few big, scary coasters. If you like big, scary coasters Islands of Adventure is MUCH better then any Disney location.

The silcone ride at South Beach can be fun too.

been to Disneyland, Knotts Berry Farm, Magic Mtn. and various others I can list on and on... My fav will always be Knotts.

Just stay until they close. They'll throw you out the front gate and then all you have to do is find your car.

I still love the Magic Kingdom. I feel like I am in a cartoon when going through the rides there.
