Sheri Clark figured the big bird was in trouble, but until she got close enough to see its face, she didn't know how bad things were: The golden eagle had tangled with a porcupine.
Clark could see 10 or 15 barbed quills poking out of the bird's face, all around its razor-sharp, hooked beak.
...
"I knelt down by her real slow," Clark said. "She allowed me to get next to her and to pull out those quills. She never opened her beak, never moved her wings, never made a sound."
Then she realized that hundreds of quills pierced the eagle's chest, legs, feet and talons. The job was way more than she could handle.
She remembers looking the bird in the eye and saying aloud: "We're goin' to town." ...

Great story. I hope the bird gets released back to the wild. Think they will do a follow up story? We saw a bald eagle at the zoo today. Huge bird! As tall as my 3 year old. Also saw a mountain lion. She was real interested the kids, too interested:)

I would like to hear the follow up too. The article said they would release it when it was fine. But maybe still has some quills under the wing as it is not using the wing properly.
we see 2 balds in this area by the lake all the time. One time they flew so close to the car. They were huge!!
FEEL THE FEAR AND DO IT ANYWAY
