okay so I am in Southern Ca. Got here on May 5th. With in 48 hours I started with the dry scratchy throat. Next came the sneezing and headaches... I had forgotten!!! The smog was terrible when I got in to Ontario Airport. The AC headaches came full force! Getting in and out of the car and going in and out of buildings and everyone running AC.... I thought my head would explode. The Santa Ana winds were also there with a vengence and allergies kicked up.
I spent time in the Palm Springs Area and as much as I used to love it there I couldn't wait to get out of there. NOPE...no longer home. I am now in San Diego and although having fun... as I sit here on this laptop looking out the window at the ocean.... I still can't wait to get back to WA State!!!
The traffic and drivers are scary and horrible!!! And I am embarrassed to think I used to drive like that!!! And again... traffic... if you think Seattle traffic is bad...come spend rush hour(s) here!!!! Even the surface streets are worse than the Redmond area at peak traffic, WITH construction!!!
People seem angrier and meaner this time. People in stores are so rude. If you ask directions they stare and walk away as if you said nothing.
Now I know all of So CA isn't that way but so much more than in WA.
I came here to do some fact finding... Should I...Could I... move back. I found my answer at every turn... Washington State is home for me. I waited a bit too long to book my flight home so now I have to wait until the 4th before I return... And it can't come soon enough. My friends down here all want me to stay. I just can't see myself living here again. I would if I had to but as it stands today...I don't have to.
So my fellow Washingtonians... Look out I am coming home!!! And I can say that word and really mean it now...HOME!!!!

"Who am I and what am I doing here?" - James stockdale, Ross Perrot VP candidate, VP debate, 1992. My favorite political statement.

I'm glad you found the answers you were looking for...there are pros and cons to every state, but some things outweigh others by a long shot. I'm happy for you.
Real generosity is doing something nice for someone who will never find it out.

We both have discovered the places that are our absolute homes. There's no place like home.
Yes Duff that is true!!! Oh wait... ummm I have only seen you once.... Guess we will have to change that when I get settled.
And Cuddles...I am glad that you found your home... nothing like that peace of knowing you are exactly where you want to be.
FEEL THE FEAR AND DO IT ANYWAY
