I'll be living at the Mansion House in Downtown, which seems really nice, but when I was driving around the city (around Barnes Jewish Hospital, SLU Medical District, Forest Park), they just weren't as nice as everyone claimed. St. Louis just seems like a dump! Sorry if I offend anyone who's from St. Louis!! I'm just wondering if I'm totally missing something?

I would not recommend St. Louis. Very crime ridden city, too many ghettos. In fact, you'd be much safer in Miami than in St Louis. In fact, here is a nice website that should help you; http://www.areaconnect.com/crime
