It is pretty cool out there - although still getting up the nerve to go do the rafting.

But even at that there's still plenty to do out there.

There's climbing walls, trails for biking (bring your own/or rent), running or hiking, river tours, zip line, etc.

Back in April the Whitewater Olympic Trials were held there, various fundraisers are also held on the grounds, along with bands that come out an entertain in the evenings (during the warmer months).

To enter the center (parking included) the cost is $5 (annual is $35) so often times we will just will head out there on a weekend, and do a little hiking (keyword -"little"), along with some sightseeing, then end the day over at the outdoor terrace at River's Edge Bar and Grill for food and drink.

I highly recommend it if you are ever in the area

I have a strange craving to move to North Carolina. Now, if you could just move the mountains (hills) a bit closer to the coast....

While I have been accused of having eyes in the back of my head - I've not yet gain the ability to move mountains

Now this is a bit off track thing I'm doing here but I still think you need to check out Greenville, SC (I won't go into detail here on a NC tread-to much) but you'd be close to your mountains (hills) SC and NC, then apx. a little over 3 hours to the coast (Charleston, SC) Course not as close to what you have now but it's not bad
