TORRINGTON - A local man was charged Friday with allegedly embezzling as much as a million dollars from his employer during the past four or five years, police said today.

James P. Crowley, 51, of 51 Marcia Drive, was charged with first-degree larceny after an investigation revealed Crowley may have embezzled between $800,000 and $1 million from FCT Electronics in Torrington.

Crowley was arrested on Dec. 29 after patronizing a prostitute in the city.

Crowley was being held today in lieu of a court set bond of $250,000. If he doesn't post bond, he will appear in Superior Court in Bantam on Monday.

Some men have no limits on dishonesty. Monkey see Monkey do. We watch our politicians and all their dishonesty and we feel we can do it too. They get away with all their dishonesty and we peasants get procecuted for it.

It's a cruel world out there. I just wonder how any small business does not notice that kind of money missing.
