TORRINGTON - A local man was charged Friday with allegedly embezzling as much as a million dollars from his employer during the past four or five years, police said today.
James P. Crowley, 51, of 51 Marcia Drive, was charged with first-degree larceny after an investigation revealed Crowley may have embezzled between $800,000 and $1 million from FCT Electronics in Torrington.
Crowley was arrested on Dec. 29 after patronizing a prostitute in the city.
Crowley was being held today in lieu of a court set bond of $250,000. If he doesn't post bond, he will appear in Superior Court in Bantam on Monday.
