Sly, Sky - being that "what does it mean" was the basic page title.
The mission is the same as my mission has always been - to present another facet of this jewel called life.
To Native Americans, this event has meaning dealing with ancient teachings and prophesies. Their mission is to be continuously in-tune with the larger nature of living things and natural laws ... well, should qualify, that is the traditional mission. Not all give a hoot.
For you, it may be no more than a fill-in to some of the encyclopedic knowledge you seem to possess ... in other words and in circle, another facet.
I have heard people say, in many places the past couple of years, how this creature or that creature or bug seems to have disappeared lately from their areas ... case in point: frogs. I have heard the same said of owls. This tells us, for one thing, where so many of them have possibly gone - and if one would believe the hinted teachings in the link ... it also suggests a "why".
That being a currently relevant topic of "The End is Near".

While I do not believe that the end is near, I do believe that many animals have always had what we call a sixth sense because it is necessary for their survival.
Hmmm, sixth sense may not be accurate. They have what I call shutithtrapith.

Ah, quoting Snagglepuss I see. Sixth sense works fine for me.
I really don't care if the end is near - try not to worry about that which I cannot control.
Besides, with the constant flow of new beginnings why contemplate ends?
