I've recently been asked to take a project in Pensacola. It would last about a year and a half, so I'm not looking to buy and I certainly won't sell my home in Wyoming. But I have a few questions.
How is rental in P-Cola? I went on-line and did some google searches of places there and I found 2. That's it. In all the search engines I put in the following criteria. $600-$1300 a month. 2 bedroom. No pets. Non smoker. House, Apartment, Loft, Townhouse. I got 2 hits. Now I know theres always a lot of rentals that don't make the net so was curious if anybody had inside info.
I'll be working on the Naval Air Station Corey. So the closer, the better.
I've been to P-Cola before but only for a week or so at a time so I never looked into housing. If need be, I'll buy a 5th wheel and stay in a RV park, but while on-line, I noticed they were pretty scarce also.
I could find no data on anything to the North of P-Cola.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I was just going through my travel book and noticed I was in Pensacola on the same day I was in Mobile AL. So I did a Quick look and sure enough HWY 10 connects the 2 they are only about 1 hr apart. If your at the air field that is right by HWY 10 so you might want to look in that area as well. To the north is Milton and to the south is the UFO Famous GULF BREEZE. Cantonment is just above it as well but I know nothing of theses towns Although I beleive Milton is good size. and about 30 min from Pensacola.

I had to respond to this post, even though this is the last one for tonight! You're correct...Mobile, AL, is only about 80 miles from Pensacola, FL and those are two very different places! We just had dinner a week ago in Milton, Florida, and found it to be a friendly, quaint place. It is also very close to the Blackwater River, which is supposedly one of the clearest sandy-bottomed rivers in the U.S. It was dark when we went, but we want to go again during the day and see the river and parks in that area.
Real generosity is doing something nice for someone who will never find it out.

NHY, good link. I found lots of listings there. I'm not ready to rent yet but it's nice to know there's a source. Thanks.
What I get a kick out of is when you travel, stop in Mobile and the drawl is so strong you almost can't understand them. Drive the 80 miles to P-Cola and there is no accent. Where's the line?

It's really nice near I-10 near Milton. We stayed at the Ramada off 10 when our son was at the Naval Station a few years ago. There are nice homes around there too.

Thanks. That's a problem I've been having. I can find all kinds of data for P-Cola, East and West. But I can't find anything on the North side of I-10. I don't mind a commute as long as it's not tied up in traffic.
Wyoming Heat.

The north side isn't bad. You won't be too far from the Naval base either.

Oh, that is good that you got a motorhome. You can get out of the State if any hurricanes are coming. The tornado's are another story. Just be safe out there.
