Appeals Court Tosses Sooners' Libel Suit Against Author

A federal appeals court on Monday dismissed a libel suit officials in Oklahoma brought against author John Grisham and a criminal defendant who wrote books outlining wrongful convictions.

Former Pontotoc County District Attorney Bill Peterson, former Shawnee Police Officer Gary Rogers and former state criminologist Melvin Hett filed the lawsuit in federal court in Muskogee in September 2007.
