Default The Famous El Paso Flood

Here are some pictures from my house of the flooding the North East side of town got, but was not reported on.

That is the highway next to my house..

Here is an idea of the aftermath.

Mud as deep as the curb and then some. Shoveled for ever to get the stuff out of our house.

Here is one of the truck across the street.. I have another one I need to find that has the truck under water.

Floods always suck. How do you run from it?

Yeah, you can run from it, but your house can't get away. I have some relatives that like living on a big flood plain on the MN and ND border. Their house has been partially underwater before. I have helped clean it up after a flood once in the past.

Well We don't live in a flood plain.. not until they built the highway across our street, damning one end of it. Our street is also down hill both directions. Before the Freeway went in the water would run to the vacant desert space down the road some, and it caused no problems. Now its a different story, as you can see from the pictures above.. this has happened to us 3 different times, and come close many others.

That really sucks that it just started after a new highway was built near your home.

Does the flooding there happen just from heavy rainfall and the ground being hard or is there a river neaby that overflows?
